Modern day biology has revealed that cells continue to survive even in the absence of having a nucleus. During stem cell research in the 1960’s and 70’s done by Dr. Bruce Lipton (author of the “The Biology of Belief” who was on the staff, at the University of Wisconsin Medical School, when I was a medical student) and others, researchers were removing the nucleus (DNA) of stem cells and observing the fate of the cell in the absence of its nucleus. The results were that for the first three to six months, the cells continued to live. The common belief had been that the nucleus (DNA) was the source of life. So, how could anyone or anything continue to live once the nucleus was removed? Common sense would proclaim the cell could no longer live. However, stem cells live without a nucleus until they reach the point of breaking down. Without a nucleus the cell cannot repair itself. From a biological standpoint this establishes the fact that the control of life comes from the outside of the cell as opposed to inside the cell. This is a tremendously important concept because it leaves the door open for God’s intervention in life since He is the source of the information of life contained in the universe.
This is not only a major factor, but also reveals to us that the viability of a single cell is not fixed or determined by its internal structures, which means it is open to change as a result of outside influences from the environment. This means we are not victims. We have control over the destiny of our lives, which is an important reality for each of us to face. This is a principle of utmost importance for us to come to. Today, unlike in years gone by, biology has revealed that DNA is not the end all for the control of life. Life is literally controlled by outside influences that are mediated through the cell wall, not engendered inherently in the DNA. In fact, the bio chemistry textbook I had during medical school was called “Bio Chemical Predestination” by Dr. Dean Kenyon (who has since renounced the content of his own book realizing that life is determined by the information from outside the chemical molecules of DNA). As a result of the information contained in this particular textbook, we were taught that the information in DNA is solely determined by the chemical structure of the molecule. The information was said to not come from any other source. It was said to be inherent in the chemistry.This belief makes life, you and I, victims to the information inherent in the chemistry of our genes which make up our DNA. This belief leaves no room for you or I or God to create change in our lives. This belief is what has lead to the worldwide concept that we as individual humans are victims and only passive participates which live out the predetermined destiny of our genes. This belief is the basis for the fact that we are living in a world which is sick and tired, financially broke, and with no hope for a better future. this belief is the source of human stress which accounts for 95% of all human dis-ease.
The belief in bio-chemical predestination revealed that if a person could understand chemistry, then they could understand the source of all information. Of course today we know that this notion is untrue. While chemistry receives, holds and transmits information, it does not create information. Consider an example using a radio to represent a chemical molecule. The radio receives, holds and transmits information evidenced by the music it plays. But, does the music come from the radio? If you destroy the radio you have not destroyed the source of the music it plays because the music which is the information it carries comes from an outside source… the radio station. In the case of the information of life, the cell is the radio, the nucleus (DNA) represents the tubes inside the radio which receives, hold and transmit the information which directs life which is broadcast to the cell from the radio station which is the mind and heart of God. Therefore, there is in fact a source and creator of the information of life, who is God.
In order to grasp the reality that we are not victims who do not have control over our lives we must realize that we are not controlled by our genes. The belief that we are controlled by our genes and do not have a choice to change is a commonly taught principle that has been taught worldwide for the past 400 years. Such a belief system is extremely limiting and constricting to all life forms and God. This is why it is of utmost importance to put determinism in its proper place as it is ultimately killing the beliefs, faith and lives of countless people to this day. The common belief that a person’s destiny is predetermined by factors over which they have no control is detrimental to life and the power of faith. As a result of this belief system, all hope is lost. When a person gives up hope there is no room for faith because “Faith is the substance of things hoped for and the evidence of things not seen.” – Hebrew 11:1
And “without faith it is impossible to please Him (God). For he who comes to God must believe that He is and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.” – Hebrews 11:6
